Faster, Simpler Sign-Up
We’ve removed the waiting room. New members are now active the moment they finish signing up.
- No more approval queue — registration no longer has to pass through a manual approval step before an account becomes usable. Sign up, verify your email, and you’re ready to go.
- Instant welcome emails — new members receive a welcome and account-activation email straight away, including those who sign up with Google.
- Resend activation in one click — if an activation email is missed, admins can resend it — or approve an account manually — directly from the member’s detail page.
- Cleaner member statuses — the member list now shows clear, meaningful statuses instead of a confusing mix of legacy states.
Why this matters: Getting people into your club should be effortless. New members can start using Sportify immediately, and admins spend far less time shepherding accounts through approval.
🧭
Redesigned Join Journey
The public join experience has been rebuilt from the ground up to be simpler, smarter, and harder to get wrong.
- Streamlined join wizard — parents joining your club are guided through a shorter, clearer set of steps with less to fill in and fewer chances to get stuck.
- Smart confirmation screen — the final screen now adapts to each person’s situation, showing exactly what happens next — whether they’re approved instantly, awaiting review, added to a waiting list, or need to complete payment.
- Duplicate account check — when someone joins, the system checks whether they already have an account and helps them continue with it, preventing duplicate profiles.
- Join without an account first — brand-new members can complete a join request before creating a login, removing a common early roadblock.
- Guardians linked automatically — when a parent registers a child, the two are correctly linked as part of the same family from the start.
- “Learn more” help links — contextual links to the Help Centre appear during sign-up so parents can get answers without leaving the page.
Why this matters: Joining a club is a parent’s first impression of Sportify. A shorter, smarter journey means more completed sign-ups and fewer support questions for your admins.

Waiting Lists
When a club or a session is full, members no longer hit a dead end — they can join a waiting list.
- Club membership waiting list — when a team or club reaches capacity, prospective members can add themselves to a waiting list instead of being turned away.
- Private training waiting list — the same applies to private training sessions, so a full session still captures interested players.
- Automatic slot management — as places open up (for example, when a pending booking is declined), the available slots update automatically.
- Right access for everyone — parents and players can view and manage waiting-list entries without running into permission errors.
Why this matters: Popular clubs and sessions fill up fast. Waiting lists let you capture demand instead of losing it, and fill open spots the moment they appear.

Who Pays — Clear Billing Responsibility
For children with more than one guardian, it’s now crystal clear exactly who is responsible for the bill.
- Named billing-responsible person — every player now has an explicit “paid by” person, so fees for a child with multiple guardians always go to the right adult.
- “Paid by” on the profile — a clear avatar and label on the billing profile show at a glance who covers each member’s fees.
- Reassign in a few clicks — admins can move billing responsibility from one guardian to another, with safeguards to keep records consistent.
- Reminders reach the right person — if a payment fails, the follow-up notifications and reminders now go to the responsible payer rather than the wrong household member.
Why this matters: Separated parents, guardians, and blended families are the norm. Making billing responsibility explicit removes awkward confusion about who owes what and ensures reminders land with the right person.
📒
Balance & Transaction Ledger
A complete, filterable record of the money moving through your club.
- Full transaction history — a new ledger shows every balance movement across your club in one place, making it easy to track and reconcile.
- Cascading filters — narrow the view by region and other criteria with filters that build on each other to find exactly what you need.
- Region-aware — for organisations spanning multiple regions, transactions are correctly scoped so figures always reflect the right area.
- Match attendance included — payments tied to match attendance now appear correctly alongside every other transaction.
Why this matters: Treasurers and administrators finally have a single, trustworthy view of club finances — no more piecing together the picture from separate screens.
🔄
Player Transfers Between Teams
Moving a player from one team to another within your organisation is now a proper, built-in process.
- Intra-organisation transfers — move a player between teams in the same organisation without recreating their profile or membership.
- History stays intact — the player keeps their record as they move, so nothing is lost in the switch.
Why this matters: Players change teams as they grow or as squads are reshuffled. Now that’s a couple of clicks instead of a manual workaround.
💳
Billing & Payments
More ways to pay, more flexible fees, and a clearer billing setup.
- New Stripe payment option — clubs can now take payments through Stripe, alongside the existing payment providers.
- Club-level fee overrides — set a fee at the individual club level that overrides the organisation default, giving multi-club organisations far more pricing flexibility.
- Clearer billing setup — the old on/off billing toggle has been replaced with descriptive, selectable cards that explain what each option does before you choose.
- Easier card editing — updating a saved payment method is now smoother and more reliable.
- More dependable charges — behind the scenes, we hardened fee and tax handling and fixed several edge cases so charges are calculated and retried correctly.
Why this matters: Every club runs its money differently. More payment options and per-club pricing mean Sportify fits your setup, not the other way around.
🏆
Tournaments
More polish and new capabilities for running competitive events.
- Paid club sign-ups — clubs can now sign up to a tournament and pay their entry fee as part of the same flow.
- Tournament sponsors — showcase the sponsors backing your tournament.
- Lots of refinements — a wave of fixes across tournament management makes the whole experience smoother from setup to match day.
Why this matters: Tournaments involve many moving parts. Paid sign-ups and sponsor support make it easier to run events that are both organised and financially sustainable.
📚
Help Centre
Our built-in Help Centre keeps getting better and easier to find.
- Easier to find on Google — friendlier web addresses and search-engine improvements mean help articles are easier to discover and share.
- Clearer organisation — subcategories now properly distinguish related topics, so members land on the right article faster.
- Contextual links in the app — “Learn more” links surface the right help content right where members need it, including during sign-up.
- Polish and fixes — a round of fixes resolved the most disruptive issues and tidied up the overall experience.
Why this matters: A help centre only helps if people can find the right answer. These changes make self-service support faster for members and lighter for your admins.

- Consistent, always-visible empty states — membership sections now show clear, tidy messages when there’s nothing to display yet.
- More reliable notifications and error reporting — behind-the-scenes improvements help us spot and resolve issues faster.
